BACKLASH (20)
Pre-match (quantity—usually 10)
[Revolution] Hardcore Hell x1
[Revolution] Judgment Day x1
[Revolution] WWE Heavyweight Title Belt x1
[Revolution] WWE United States Title Belt x1
Backed by Mr. McMahon (TB) x1
First Family of Professional Wrestling x1
I’ve Had More Championships Than You’ve Had Women x1
Managed by Vince McMahon (TB) x1
Vince McMahon, Guest Ringside Announcer x1
Vince McMahon Interferes x1
Strategy Notes:
In a perfect scenario, you will get to play all ten of your pre-match cards. With First Family of Professional Wrestling making all 4 of your “McMahon” pre-match cards not count towards your maximum and I’ve Had More Championships causing your two title belts to give you an additional pre-match slot, you have room to play all of them.
The two title belts are there mainly to ensure that you can play Backed by Mr. McMahon and Vince McMahon Interferes. Between reducing your opponent’s superstar value by 4 and increasing yours by 4, you should have no problem having more superstar value than your opponent.
Generally, you will want to play First Family of Professional Wrestling as your first pre-match card during the event phase to increase your pre-match. Should your opponent be utilizing First of All, you would instead play the [Revolution] WWE United States Title Belt. When you decide to play [Revolution] Judgment Day could also be of paramount importance. You do not want your opponent to be able to play their “Vince” cards against you, so make sure that you have already secured higher superstar value before laying down Judgment Day. With Judgment Day, there are a few cards you will probably want to force your opponent to discard. The main offenders you will want to watch out for are Backstage Shenanigans, The Old Switcheroo, I’m Gonna Break You, and Fans Love an Underdog (TB). Aside from that, you will attempt to disrupt whatever they were planning on doing during the pre-match phase.
[Revolution] Hardcore Hell is a very important card to this deck design. When combined with [Revolution] Judgment Day and Remember Who Pays Your Salary, you are given a free non F:0 Core against your opponent every turn.
Mid-match (10)
A Phoenix Rising x1
Backlash! x1
Can U Believe the Witte Retort? x1
Dirty Low Blow x3
McMahon-us Interrupt-us x1
Restricted Use In This Area x1
Undermine the Competition x1
You’re As Graceful As a Cow On Ice x1
Strategy Notes:
Since you are always considered to have less Fortitude than your opponent via Remember Who Pays Your Salary, I highly recommend that you begin the game by playing a Dirty Low Blow or three. That is, unless your opponent is a Legend superstar, in which case you should begin with A Phoenix Rising to eliminate their Managed by “The Mouth of The South” Jimmy Hart. You may also run into problems if your opponent has a superstar specific Mid-Match reversal, such as Ultimo Rechazo! or You Think You Know Me?.
Can U Believe the Witte Retort? is mainly there to make [Revolution] Hardcore Hell permanent, but could also be used if your opponent is abusing discard effects.
Undermine the Competition is a great card for Vince McMahon due to once again Remember Who Pays Your Salary. Since the only real requirement facing Vince is having less cards in his hand, this card will certainly make your opponent pay as they are forced to remove their hard-earned fortitude.
ARSENAL (60)
Actions (7)
Comeback! (TB) x2
Don’t Cross the Boss x1
I’m Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Damnit! x1
Simply the Best x2
The Inmates Aren’t Running My Asylum x1
Strategy Notes:
Comeback and Simply the Best are your tools for keeping your opponent without any Fortitude to speak of, and The Inmates Aren’t Running My Asylum takes care of anything else.
I’m Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Damnit will help finish your opponent off, as by the time you play this card, your opponent will most likely have already used their Restricted Use In This Area.
Antics (6)
[Revolution] A Spirited Turn of Events x2
[Revolution] It Has Everything to Do With Me x2
[Revolution] Shock the World x2
Strategy Notes:
Once again exploiting Vince McMahon’s greatest card, we have [Revolution] Shock the World and [Revolution] It Has Everything to Do With Me. [Revolution] Shock the World will help punch maneuvers thru and bait out their Restricted Use in This Area. [Revolution] It Has Everything to Do With Me will help control your opponent’s fortitude rating.
[Revolution] A Spirited Turn of Events serves as your recursion tool to get back the cards you need.
Maneuvers (19)
[Revolution] Bear Hug x2
[Revolution] Bow & Arrow x2
[Revolution] Bulldog x2
[Revolution] Into the Barricade x2
Pump Kick x3
Shoot Forearm x3
Shoot Lock-up x2
Shoot Double Arm Lock x2
The Vinny Mac Attack x1
Strategy Notes:
Of this entire maneuver set, only two maneuvers can be reversed by A Revolution of The Mind those being Pump Kick and Shoot Lock-up. However, both have built in restrictions that can take your opponent’s hand out of the equation.
The main strategy behind playing these maneuvers is to play a non F:0 core as the first card on each of your turns, under the protection of [Revolution] Hardcore Hell, then play another maneuver, perhaps after playing [Revolution] Shock the World.
Finish off your opponent after playing I’m Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Damnit into The Vinny Mac Attack.
Reversals (28)
[Revolution] Why Don’t You Kiss My A%$? x2
[Revolution] One Solution: Revolution x1
[Revolution] Try To Get Away x1
[Revolution] I Won’t Be Beat Tonight x1
A Dynasty’s Destiny x1
A Revolution of the Mind x3
Always Have a Plan B x2
Divine Intervention x1
Don’t Try This at Home x1
Elbow to the Face x3
It’s Good For Business x3
No Chance in Hell (TB) x4
Manager Interferes x3
Master Manipulator x1
The Raw Deal Revolution x1
Strategy Notes:
The purpose of the reversal set is to reverse whatever your opponent plays…simple as that. There is no trick and certainly no secret t3ch to worry about here.
Any Final Strategy Notes / Insights:
As you can see, the deck relies heavily on Remember Who Pays Your Salary. I would also venture to say that the deck needs to have [Revolution] Judgment Day to function as well. Without [Revolution] Hardcore Hell, your job will be much harder, but you can still manage to beat your opponent. If for some reason your opponent is able to get rid of, blank, or otherwise force you to discard [Revolution] Judgment Day, I would recommend you extend him a handshake and thank him for a good game, because you have already lost. While this may be a major crux of the deck, should your opponent not prepare to take [Revolution] Judgment Day out of the picture, it’s more than likely you’ll have the game in the bag.
